Thanks for posting the photo of the Oklahoma eagle. I suggest a Nikon D2X and a Sigma 135-400mm. This combo, used, should cost under $2,500 and will give you professional results once you learn how to use it. --Cary Anderson (www.eagleeyepictures.net)

Thanks for sharing this wonderful capture! It has been awesome watching the bald eagles return to Oklahoma over the last ten years or so.

I've been using prosumer type digicams with 12x optical zoom for the last few years. You can catch these super zoom cameras for less than $300 with many SLR type features and they reach out real far. http://www.flickr.com/photos/freewine/
